Liberals Push for Government Health Care; Resist Ending Public Option
Bloomberg is reporting today that the liberal Democrats in the House are continuing to push for a ‘Public’ option in their so-called health-care reform plan, even after the President earlier today signaled he may be willing to drop the public option all together. (As many of us know, this is not a reform of health care, but a takeover of the 1/7th of the economy by government politicians,… but they think we are so ignorant they continue to call it reform!)
Interestingly enough, Nancy Pelosi and the other ‘liberal fascists‘ in our government have covered their ears and will not hear it. Even with the tremendous outcry of the American people, the Democrats are unfazed at their displeasure, as they desire to ram the ‘public’ option though at all costs…
In the end, it will be the ‘blue dogs’ that decide if our country will remain free in regards to health-care or go the route of socialized medicine, with all the decisions about our health being decided by bureaucrats in government. Lets hope they have some bite left in them.
Aug. 17 (Bloomberg) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said a health-care overhaul should include a government-run insurance program, reiterating her backing for the plan after an administration official suggested the president may back down.
“There is strong support in the House for a public option,” Pelosi, of California, said in a statement. “A public option is the best option to lower costs, improve the quality of health care, ensure choice and expand coverage.”
Other Democrats called on President Barack Obama to stand by his commitment to create the new government plan to compete with private companies, saying they wouldn’t be able to support any health-reform measure that lacked a public option.
Representative Maxine Waters of California said she was “very troubled to hear that after months of negotiations, supposedly moving toward meaningful health-care reform, the public option may in fact be off the table.”
Republicans and some Democrats oppose the creation of a federal health-care plan, saying it would undercut private insurers and expand the government’s role too much. Lawmakers have fielded questions on the topic from constituents at town- hall meetings throughout the nation during their August recess. The health overhaul measures approved by three House committees and one Senate panel include a government-run health plan.
The more I read about our election politicians, the more frustrated I become with their lack of regard for our Constitution.
Their thirst for power is so strong it has undermined their own thinking to the point that it may even destroy their political ambitions come the next election. (which would be fine by me!)
Will we see limited government ever again? I sure hope so, as our freedom depends on it.
