Will Iranians Share in the Blessings of Liberty?

iran map 282x300 Will Iranians Share in the Blessings of Liberty?As I sit down to write this post, there are innocent people within the country of Iran that are being shot down like dogs for doing nothing more than protesting their banana republic and unethical elections.

Every liberty loving individual, no matter what country you call home, should have some concern for the tyranny being presented right before our eyes. Every day I read of protesters being shot to death, reporters being removed in mass numbers from the country, with more evil strategies being devised amongst the regime to remove these protesters with lethal force. As free people we must identify and communicate to the world the actions of Iran for what they are; a tyrannical attempt to crush the people and suppress their inalienable right to freedom.

The sad part of the story is that Iranians have little hope in defeating this oppressive regime, without the rule of law or the proper means of defending themselves. As I look at the state of affairs within the country, I am reminded of the brilliance of our founders in placing the 2nd Amendment within the Constitution and am thankful for the freedom our ancestors died for. It is evident that the founders had a conviction to ensure our liberty, which is the root purpose of the Amendments in the first place. I believe Thomas Jefferson said it best in his clear statement below…

You see, the reason for the 2nd Amendment is not to allow Americans the enjoyment of hunting or improve their target practice, or even to protect themselves against thieves and murders, but to protect them from government. The founders knew all too well, that the government designed to keep them free, was the greatest threat to their liberty… That unless the people had the right to keep and bear arms, their freedom was in jeopardy to the root nature of government. We should always question our leaders in this regard, and any attempt to remove this right should be firmly resisted as an assault on liberty.

It is unfortunate that many within our own country do not even understand this simple concept, and even go so far as to treat this right like political garbage. A quote below clearly shows the ignorance of the left in this regard…

“You’ve all seen what’s happening in the streets of Tehran. How people are getting beaten, getting hit with tear gas, getting shot. Take a look at what Republican Senate candidate Marco Rubio of Florida posted on his Twitter page after watching those scenes that we’ve been watching. Quote: ‘I have a feeling the situation in Iran would be a little different if they had a Second Amendment like ours.’ Wow! Things would be different if the protesters had the constitutional right to bear arms?! To fight back against the Iranian Guard? I hadn’t thought of that. Then again it wouldn’t really be a non-violent protest, would it Mr. Rubio, if the non-violent protesters were walking around with guns!” –Chris Matthews

From Matthew’s own mouth he sides with the regime and tyranny, giving acceptance to the atrocities of the government by believing the citizens should just live under tyranny in submission… I ask, what if the founders of this great nation did just this? What if they submitted to the tyranny of England like little puppets? I am proud that this is not the case, and honor my founders for it. I only hope that if faced with the same circumstances Americans would have the courage and strength to honor their commitment to freedom, like our founders have done and our soldiers do everyday.

As men and women who honor the Constitution and value the principles of our founders, let’s pray that God would grant the people of Iran the great blessing of liberty, with as little ‘manure‘ as possible.
